Seat Belts

The level of alcohol in the blood must be below 0.5 g/l.

Fines
- Because of the high incidence of accidents, fines for traffic offences are strictly enforced.
- Police are authorised to impose and collect fines "on the Spot". They must issue a receipt for the amount paid.
- Speeding fines range from approx £200 to £400.
Parking
- The calendar is often used to allow parking on different dates.
- On even days parking is on the side of even numbered houses.
- On odd days parking is on the side of odd numbered houses.
- Blue disc parking zones are also common, and discs available from hotels and travel agencies etc.
- Illegally parked cars can be towed away.

Additional Notes
- It is also an offence to carry spare fuel in your vehicle.
- It is also an offence if your vehicle is immobilised because it ran out of petrol.
